Burgundy Wine Tours and Travel Design

Burgundy is where we built this business, and it is still the region we know best. We have lived in Paris, then in Burgundy, and now in Lyon, and we have spent years earning the trust of the growers whose cellars our clients visit.

The region, honestly

The Côte d’Or is thirty miles of farmland that happens to produce the most sought after wine on earth. The names on the village signs are the names on the bottles: Meursault, Volnay, Puligny Montrachet, Vosne Romanée, Morey Saint Denis. If you love pinot noir from Oregon or chardonnay from almost anywhere, Burgundy is the source of everything those producers are reaching for.

Burgundy is more open to visitors now than it has ever been. Our work is not access for its own sake. It is curating an experience where you feel a connection to the place, the culture, and the wines. The domaines that matter here are still family farms, most with no tasting room and no sign on the door, where you are received in the cellar by the person who made the wine. And the bucket list belongs in the day too: the Grand Cru vineyards themselves, the Hospices de Beaune, the villages you have read about.

Two ways we work in Burgundy

Guided days. A full day or more in the vines with us or one of our team beside you, from hotel pickup to the last cellar. Two comprehensive cellar visits and tastings at the domaines, lunch in the villages, and the context behind every glass. From 950 euros per person with transport and standard tastings included. Lunch and premium tastings are separate. Private, for two to six guests, full days only.

Designed days. We plan the entire day, book your producers and your lunch, and arrange a private driver who takes you door to door. There is no guide with you, but every visit is chosen and booked with the same care as if we were there. 750 euros per day for the design, with your driver and tastings settled directly on the ground.

Many clients pair the two across a multi day trip: the guided day teaches you the region, and the designed days let you wander it yourselves. That pairing is what we build most often, and it is what we do best.

Beyond the tasting room

For clients who want to go further, we curate experiences you will not find on any list: back vintage tastings in the cellar, a picnic at a special spot in the Côte, private winemaker dinners with a chef pairing the food and the wines, sourcing bottles for your cellar, and time behind the scenes of wine production, seeing the work up close in the press room and the cuverie.

The trip around the wine matters just as much, and this is where knowing the region beats booking it. We know which hotels suit which trip and the tables worth planning a day around, and we point you right. We collaborate with cultural partners we have vetted ourselves: cheese educators, market tours, pottery artisans. Coming from Paris, we can advise on the right trains or arrange a private car for the journey. We are wine people, culture liaisons, not a commercial travel agency, and everything we design runs through this thread.

Who you are working with

Emily Lester Fouilleroux is a sommelier, French Wine Scholar, and Bourgogne Master Level graduate who teaches at the Burgundy School of Business and writes everything you read on this site. Nicolas Fouilleroux is a WSET Diploma holder and certified educator who studied to Stage 2 of the Master of Wine programme, an ambassador for the wines of Provence, and came to wine after fifteen years in classical music. When we are not guiding ourselves, your day is led by one of a small circle of seasoned bilingual wine professionals we trust with our own clients.

People come to us for the trips that matter: a 50th birthday, a 10th anniversary, a retirement, the wines for a wedding, the start of a cellar. Tell us the occasion and we will build the day around it.

What our clients say

We had an ideal day for two learning and tasting in the Côte d’Or. We had great family run tastings and tours and got to experience the region with a knowledgeable guide through the vineyards and the wines.

Chris and Stephanie, private Burgundy day, July 2026

Doing any type of tour like this is usually not my thing at all. But without having any domaine connections and my first time to the region we decided it would be a good intro. We spoke with Emily on the phone quite a while ago and went over our preferences in detail. We did a full day tour where they picked us up at our hotel and we saw the entire region along with two Domaine tastings and lunch.

Questions we hear every week

We arrive by train and have no car. Does that work?

That is how most of our clients arrive. We collect you at your hotel or at the station in Beaune or Dijon, and designed days include a private driver door to door. Coming from Paris or Lyon, we can advise on the right trains, or arrange a private car for the whole journey.

How far ahead should we book?

Two to six months for most dates. Harvest and the fall fill first, and we are already booking spring 2027.

Can you get us into the famous names?

We will be honest with you, because it matters. The most famous domaines are closed to the public, whoever is asking. For private clients we do open certain doors that stay closed to everyone else, case by case and never promised. And we bring you to growers of the same caliber, in the same villages, where you taste in the family cellar rather than a reception room.

Can we ship wine home?

Yes. We work with trusted shippers and arrange it after your day, including bottles you buy elsewhere on your trip.

Do you run half days or group tours?

No. Our days are private and full length, because that is what the region deserves and what our clients come for.
